FILIPINO RESILIENCY

Image
We are all aware of the fact that Philippines is located at the Pacific Ring of Fire which makes us a disaster-prone country.  The capability to recover or adjust easily from a change or resiliency is one of the traits that we have especially during these disasters. One of the disasters wherein we became resilient is when the Typhoon Yolanda struck us four years ago. It is recorded as the deadliest Philippine typhoon at an estimated killings of 6,300 people. The typhoon brought a lot of damage not only on the lives of the people but also the on the country itself. Many parts of the country especially Leyte was most affected during this calamity but we, being strong  is the reason why we were able to stand from being down. Disasters are everywhere and comes in the most unexpected times so we should always be ready to help each other and the faithfulness to God are the most important things we need inable to overcome these challenges.

DUTERTE 2018 SONA: A REACTION PAPER

Image
reference:  https://goo.gl/images/tdhFJK Short but powerful, this is what I can say about this year's president Duterte's SONA. Short because it only lasted for 48 mins, and powerful because he was able to talk about some issues we are facing right now. The speech was also delivered in a good way because it doesn't contain much cuss words like those on the past.  He highlighted that the  war from illegal drugs  is far from over and will not be sidelined, instead, it will be as relentless and chilling. " Your concern is human rights, mine is human lives,” that was ironic though.     " Illegal drugs wasted away lives, dysfunctionalized families and ruined relationship," he said.  “ You worry about the present, I am concerned about the future. You worry about the future because you know what crimes can do to the youth of this country. I hope that you concern about the future will not destroy and will cause the destruction of our present.
