Independence Day or Araw ng Kalayaan is an annual national holiday in the Philippines as it commemorates the independence of our forefathers and heroes who fought hard for the nation from colonization. We should be thankful for them because they sacrificed their blood, sweat and most of all, their lives. Without them, maybe I think we are still under the colonization and still seeking for  our own freedom.

People on this generation especially teenagers does not have much ideas about independence day. Instilling nationalism for present and future generations is one of the reasons why we celebrate Araw ng Kalayaan. It reminds us of the nationalism, commitment, and devotion of the Filipinos towards the country Philippines.

Celebrating Independence is one of the most important event for Filipinos. Giving respect to heroes, our country, and to all other Filipinos is needed and we can simply do small things that will help for the brighter future of Philippines.
